City of Carlinville City met Council Oct. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

PRESENT: Alderman Downey, Alderman Ober, Alderman Harber, Alderman Wagstaff, Alderman Koller, Alderman Reese, Alderman Link, City Clerk Carla Brockmeier, City Treasurer Jody Reichmann Mayor Oswald, Chief Derek Graham, Woodard and Curran Representative Dan Held, Legal Counsel Cravens, Budget Officer Linda Boente Absent: Alderman LeVora

Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve minutes, seconded by Koller, motion passed unanimously.

Approval of Bills - Motion was made to approve bills by Alderman Koller, seconded by Wagstaff, motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence

Varsity Cheerleader Correspondence – Motion was made to allow the cheerleaders to sell Krispy Kremes on Oct 14th on the square and at city hall by Alderman Ober, seconded by Koller, motion passed unanimously.

Holly Crowe Correspondence -Holly Crowe has asked for permission to use the center of the square from 4-8 p.m. on Oct 19th for Witches Night Out. A motion was made to approve by Alderman Koller, seconded by Wagstaff, motion passed unanimously.

Public Comment

Alderman Ober asked citizens to not place mattresses out in their yard, and dispose of them properly.

Old Business

IARWC Update – Dan Held reported that approximately 56% of the easements have been obtained, 33% are out for signature and 2% have verbal commitment. He also gave a quick update on the water main break this past weekend and a shout out to Joe Boatman, a former employee who helped in the repair by identifying location.

Brave Days Road Closure – Jon Convery was here from Brave Days and asked rather than close the first block of East Main, to use dead space near parking spots and entrances on the square for set up of vendors. A motion was made by Alderman Harber to approve, seconded by Koller, motion passed unanimously.

New Business - None

Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Downey at 613 p.m., seconded by Koller motion passed unanimously.

Motion was made to come out of executive session at 6:51 p.m., Downey, seconded by Wagstaff.
