City of Hillsboro City Council met Dec. 29.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.

Roll call was taken and those present were Mayor Don Downs and Commissioners Kendra Wright, Fred Butler, and Patrick Ward. Commissioner Tommy Justison was absent.

The “Pledge of Allegiance” was recited.

Public Comment: None.

Resolution Authorizing and Approving the City of Hillsboro Employee Handbook: This item was not discussed and was therefore removed from the agenda.

Ordinance No. 1781 An Ordinance Regarding the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act for the City of Hillsboro, Illinois: This item was not discussed and was therefore removed from the agenda.

Ordinance No. 1783 An Ordinance Regarding the Policy on Paid Leave for City Employees Not Collectively Bargained: Mayor Downs stated he believes the council should move forward with this ordinance. Motion by Wright and second by Ward to adopt Ordinance No. 1783 An Ordinance Regarding the Policy on Paid Leave for City Employees Not Collectively Bargained. Motion carries with a 4-0 vote in favor.

Addendum between City of Hillsboro and Laborer’s International Union of North America Local 773 Regarding Residency Requirements for City Employees: Downs stated the typos have been corrected. Motion by Butler and second by Wright to approve the Addendum between the City of Hillsboro and Laborer’s International Union of America Local 773 Regarding Residency Requirements for City Employees. Motion carries with a 4-0 vote in favor.

Resolution Authorizing a Representative to Sign Loan Documents: Downs stated this is the Resolution Don Taul with Woodard and Curran brought to the Council’s attention. Motion by Butler and second by Ward to adopt the Resolution Authorizing a Representative to Sign Loan Documents. Motion carries with a 4-0 vote in favor.

Motion to Adjourn was made at 8:08 a.m. by Commissioner Wright and seconded by Commissioner Ward. Motion carried with a 4-0 vote in favor.
