City of Carlinville City Council met Jan. 15.

PRESENT: Alderman Downey, Alderman Harber, Alderman Ober, Alderman Wagstaff, Alderman Koller, Alderman Reese, Alderman Link, City Clerk Carla Brockmeier, Mayor Oswald, Chief Derek Graham, Budget Officer Linda Boente, City Treasurer Jody Reichmann, Bobbi Bates Zoning Administrator/Econ Dev/Grant Writing, by phone, Alderman LeVora, Don Craven
Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve minutes, seconded by Wagstaff, motion passed unanimously.
Approval of Bills - Motion was made to approve bills by Alderman Harber, seconded by Koller, motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence - None
Public Comment – Mayor reminded the elected officials that the Chamber Dinner is Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
Old Business
Purchase of Materials for Lake I/II Chemical Feed – Motion was made by Alderman Link to approve an amount not to exceed $38,500.00 for chemicals and materials to treat Lakes I and II, seconded by Wagstaff, motion passed unanimously.
Ordinance Approving Changes to the Peddlers License Fees – Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve An Ordinance Approving Changes to the Carlinville Code of Ordinances (Peddlers License Fees), seconded by Reese, motion passed unanimously.
Lake Annexation – Motion was made to approve $12,000.00 in engineering fees to Meco Engineering by Alderman Ober, seconded by Koller, to begin annexation for the lake, motion passed with Downey voting nay.
Clean Up/ 1021 Johnson / 226 Northwest – Craven will speak to Judge Meyer regarding this issue and it will then be brought back to council. Item tabled.
2024-25 Budget Preparation – Alderman Harber included worksheets for department and committee heads to begin work on budget. Budget Officer Boente will be coordinating budget.
Allow Boats on Lake - Lengthy discussion took place regarding allowing manually powered boats back on the lake. The item was then tabled for lack of support.

Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Downey at 6:44 p.m., seconded by Koller motion passed unanimously.
