City of Centralia Fire & Police Commission met July 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm at Emergency Operations Center.

Present in gallery –Fire Chief Day, Police Chief Locke:

Roll Call

J. Lynch – Present

J. Flagg – Present

D. Stock – Present

Public Forum- none

Minutes – Motion by D. Stock and second by J. Flagg to accept minutes from previous meeting. Motion passed unanimously.

Correspondence – Received psychological evaluation for D. Shahan. Received written resignation for D. Whritenour

Old business – Discuss & Confirm results of CPD Entry Level Patrol Officer testing & interviews: Motion by J. Flagg and seconded by D. Stock to accept the list of Initial Application of all forty candidates and list of Initial Eligibility. Both received from Chief Locke. Passed unanimously.

Due to a tie score in interviews both of those candidates will conduct a draw to determine placement on the list. This will be done in person and witnessed by a member of the commission.

New Business

Discuss date for Entry Level Firefighter testing: Suggested the use of Law Enforcement Testing & Assessment (LETA) for the next testing. This is the same company the Police Department utilizes. Physical Fitness test to be conducted by the Fire Department and observed by the Fire and Police Commission. This is also currently done by the Police Department.

Discuss Chief Day meeting with the Fource Group 7/9/24 regarding advertising: This will be scheduled in conjunction with the Police Department. Initial landing page to be completed.

Discussed potential disciplinary concern regarding the Fire Department
