Macoupin County Board Public Safety Committee met July 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Kiel, Barr, Ibberson, Payne, Starr, Schmidt, Duncan, Boehler, Bishop

ABSENT: Dragovich, Adden

II. AGENDA ITEMS

1. Update on 911 Sign Replacements Plan

Bishop said that he had reached out to the townships on getting a list of the signs that need the most attention. As of right now, only six of the townships have responded back. Since we are on a time crunch, he was recommending hitting the signs along the state highways at intersections with county roads since those are the signs you would be seeing at higher speeds and then working the rest of the county as funds are available.

Motion by Ibberson, seconded by Payne to approve hitting the intersections along state highways first throughout the county.

RESULT: MOTION TO RECOMMEND [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Jim Ibberson, Member

SECONDER: Jon Payne, Member

AYES: Kiel, Barr, Ibberson, Payne, Starr

ABSENT: Dragovich, Adden

III. EXECUTIVE SESSION

1. Resolve into executive session

Motion by Barr, seconded by Starr to resolve into executive session at 5:10 pm

RESULT: RESOLVE INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Leann Barr, Member

SECONDER: Harry Starr, Member

AYES: Kiel, Barr, Ibberson, Payne, Starr

ABSENT: Dragovich, Adden

2. Personnel - Animal Control Administrator

3. Arise from executive session

Motion by Ibberson, seconded by Payne to arise from executive session at 5:29 pm.

RESULT: ARISE FROM EXECUTIVE SESSION [UNANIMOUS]

MOVER: Jim Ibberson, Member

SECONDER: Jon Payne, Member

AYES: Kiel, Barr, Ibberson, Payne, Starr

ABSENT: Dragovich, Adden

4. Motion regarding Animal Control Administrator Employment Offer

Motion by Barr, seconded by Ibberson to recommend offering the applicant

$48,000 a year salary with a three month probation period after which there

would be a 2 year contract with a 2% increase after one year.

RESULT: MOTION TO RECOMMEND [UNANIMOUS]
