City of Carlinville City Council met Aug. 5.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
PRESENT: Alderman Harber, Alderman Ober, Alderman Wagstaff, Alderman LeVora, Alderman Demuzio, Alderman Link, Alderman Reese, Mayor Oswald, City Clerk Carla Brockmeier, Budget Officer Linda Boente, Bobbi Bates Zoning, Attorney Joe Craven, Treasurer Jody Reichmann, Police Chief Derek Graham Absent: Alderman Downey
Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Ober to approve minutes, seconded by Demuzio, motion passed unanimously.
Approval of Bills - Motion was made to approve bills by LeVora, seconded by Reese, motion passed unanimously.
Correspondence - None
Public Comment
Representatives from Our Market, Chris Hartsook, Julie Boente, and Chris McClury were here to give an update on the market. Grant money for the build out has been pushed back for now, but they are having a weekly farmers market at the plaza location.
Old Business
IARWC Update – Representative for the city Dan Held gave an update regarding IARWC. Engineering is completed. Phase one has now been split into two phases. Applications have been made for state revolving funds and USDA funds.
Open Sealed Bids for Sale of 213 N. East Street – Bids for the property owned by the city at 213 N. East were opened. Bids were from Baron Stayton for $15,901.00, Unhinged MC for $17,500.00, and Lambeth Holdings LLC for $21,350.00, motion was made by Alderman Harber to accept the high bid, seconded by Demuzio, motion passed unanimously.
OSLAD Grant- Alderman Harber and Bobbi Bates both spoke regarding the potential application for the grant and it’s use within the city. Harber spoke of potential co-op with park board for playground equipment and Bates spoke of its possible use for new shower houses at the lake campground.
New Business
Rezone Carlinville Fire Protection District - Motion was made to approve rezoning the Carlinville Fire Protection District property that was recently acquired next the station from residential to governmental, by Alderman Harber, seconded by Ober, motion passed unanimously. Ordinance will be prepared by the attorney.
Rezone 437 North Center – this item was tabled, until the property owner can provide plans for construction.
Road Repairs – Discussion briefly took place regarding road repair and MFT funds. Item was sent back to public works committee.
Water Tap Application – This item was tabled and sent back to the public works committee for more clarification.
Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman LeVora at 7:03 p.m., seconded by Demuzio motion passed unanimously.
