Macoupin County Board Finance Committee met Aug. 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Payne, Armour, Adden, Dragovich, Heuer, Kiel, Stayton

ABSENT:

II. AGENDA ITEMS

1. 2024-2025 Health/Dental Renewal Rates and Options Due to Increase Snodgrass presented some insurance renewal rates. The current premium is $805.06 a month. The BCBS renewal as is would be $947. Health Alliance is $1,004. United Healthcare is $1,070. The BCBS also offered options of $816, $844, and $884, changing the deductible amounts, where the county would pick up the difference through the health reimbursement account. Snodgrass showed the math that the lower premium but higher deductible would save the county money in the long run. The county union representatives were present and had the information handed to them. They looked at it tentatively and felt they might like to stick with the current plan renewal of $947 a month because the prescription cost plan was 3 tiers with lower amounts than the newer, cheaper plans having 5 tiers with higher amounts. The county would review the information and meet again next week to hopefully review again and make a final decision. Dowland also was present and was hoping to review and possibly bid the insurance.

2. Approve Final FY 23-24 Bills for Payment

Motion by Adden, seconded by Stayton to approve the final bills for payment for the fiscal year.

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS]

SECONDER: Aaron Stayton, Member
