FOIA Request to City of Ashley Regarding Building Permits on October 30, 2024.
South Central Reporter, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has submitted a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act for records pertaining to new and active residential and commercial building permits issued in the city from January 1, 2023, till date.
The specific details requested include the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address of the property in question, and contractor's name. This information is sought for both new permits issued during this period as well as those that are currently active.
As members of the media committed to transparency and public accountability, we at South Central Reporter believe access to such public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We have therefore requested a fee waiver as part of our application.
