City of Salem Tourism Board met Nov. 13.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

I. Call to Order

II. Approval of Minutes

The minutes of the October 14, 2024 meeting were presented for action.

III. Treasurer’s Report

August and September Treasurer’s Reports were tabled until next month

October Treasurer’s Reports were presented for action.

IV. Presentation of Petitions/Public Comments

Leon Chapman Christmas ceremony have stores open on Black Friday for the lighting. Would like for tourism to use $500 to purchase cookies, punch, hot chocolate for Country Creek Treasurers to give out during the lighting. Leon Chapman has carolers set up to sing, brass band playing.

Janelle Smith suggested advertising this on digital billboard at Iuka bank or MCSB free?

Kelley Predium doesn’t think the $500 should go to one business, should be more businesses (ABC).

Leon Chapman said that Country Creek Treasurers is the only business that has items for Black Friday to be open for the lighting. Put on the agenda for next month.
