Macoupin County Board Economic Development Committee met March 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Members Present: Holly Klausing, Harry Starr, John Blank, and Molly Rosentreter Members Seated after Roll Call: Ryan Kilduff

Members Absent: Kristi Dunnagan and Jon Payne

Officials and Department Heads Present: Pete Duncan

1. Call to Order

1.1 Roll Call

There were 4 members present and 3 members absent.

2. Agenda Items

2.1 Bid Opening for Bids of County Property North of Carlinville

Duncan said there was no bids turned in for the property. There was a discussion about what to do next with this acreage and the remaining acreage. The committee discussed getting the appraisal done for the remaining acreage and potentially doing a live auction for the properties. They would like into the options and requirements and discuss it again next month.

Motion to seat Kilduff at 5:16 pm.

2.2 Update on Trustee Auction of Property South of Carlinville

Duncan said the County Trustee had told them that there had been numerous bidders for the property and the high bid was $121,000. There would be a resolution next month to approve the sale and it was not final until that resolution was approved.

2.3 Grant Manager Job Posting

The committee discussed posting the position with a deadline to apply by April 18th. There was also a discussion about funding and if the grant would still be available and useable. The committee decided to post the position knowing it was a much needed step.
