Macoupin County Board Road and Bridge Committee met March 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Members Present: Bernie Kiel, Gordon Heuer, Leann Barr, Molly Rosentreter, and Tony Wiggins Members Absent: Ross Adden and Todd Armour

Officials and Department Heads Present: Tom Reinhart and Frericks

1. Call to Order

1.1 Roll Call

There were 5 members present and 2 absent.

2. Audit Bills

2.1 Review and Recommend monthly claims

Claims 14565 through 14590 totaling $ 104,176.94 were read and the following motion made:

Motion made to approve the claims and recommend payment by the full board

7. Discussion

7.1 Discussion of County Subdivision Ordinance

The Committee discussed the review and updating of the county’s subdivision ordinance. Assistant States Attorney Kyle Frericks was present to help provide guidance and advice. The ordinance needs updating to account for current technology. There is also a need modify the ordinance to give the Board more flexibility in some articles and to provide better guidance in others. The Committee agreed that the subdivision officer should be present for any future meetings reviewing the ordinance. The Committee expects the review could take several months and all members were encouraged to read the ordinance in its entirety.

7.2 Lotus Wind

Reinhart reported that APEX began road improvements for the Lotus Wind Farm last week.
