Hillsboro Community Unit School District 3 Board of Education Building and Grounds Committee met March 17.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Present were Committeemen Matt Lentz, Brian Patton, and Blake Furness along with Superintendent Powell, Hope McBrain, Fred Butler, and Tim Downen. The Committee took a trip to visit a potential site for HCCDC, the Building Trades house in Taylor Springs, and the County owned property on Seymour Avenue.

After returning to the Unit Office, the Committee reviewed and discussed bids for an HVAC project at HHS. A potential future project to add secure vestibules at all schools was discussed, as was a roofing project at Beckemeyer. Updates were given on the HHS building project, to include the letting of bids for the addition of 6 tennis courts on the Jr. High campus.

The committee is very interested in the District possibly purchasing the building that was visited and and adding on to it for a new HCCDC home. The Committee decided not to ask the Board to consider purchasing the County’s property on Seymour Avenue.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:50.
