Macoupin County Board Liquor Commission met March 31.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

Members Present: Jim Ibberson, Leann Barr, John Blank, Harry Starr, and Tony Wiggins

Members Absent: Holly Klausing and Molly Rosentreter

Officials and Department Heads Present: Pete Duncan

1. Call to Order

1.1 Roll Call

There were 5 members present and 2 members absent.

3.1 Macoupin County Fairgrounds

The fair is applying for a full year license based on the amendment to ordinance that was being considered next.

Motion to approve the application

Moved by: Tony Wiggins

Seconded by: Harry Starr

4. Agenda Items

4.1 Amendment to County Liquor Ordinance

Garrison said that per year it is cheaper for the fairgrounds to get year long dram shop than getting dram shop each time they have an individual event. However, they would still like the option of having private businesses to cater, which would require a retail caterer  license option in the ordinance. This amendment would allow a caterer to purchase a special retail caterer license, with a maximum of 15 per year, which by state law is required. That would allow the Fair to have their license but also have other business cover some events.

Motion to amend the ordinance.

5.1 Adjourn Meeting

Motion by Blank, seconded by Wiggins to adjourn at 4:53 pm. All in favor. Motion carried.
