Germantown School District 60 Board of Education met April 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Special meeting called to order by President Lee Deerhake at 7:00pm. with the following members present: Matt Korte, Terry Biggs, Jessica Hemker, Andrea Linders, Nicole Peters, Ashley Winter and Lee Deerhake. Also in attendance: Superintendent Robin Becker, Assistant Principal Trisha Weekley, SEL/RtI/Special Education Coordinator Kristine Beer, Board Secretary Leigh Ann Arentsen, Board Members Elect Taylor Beckmann and Kennedy Brauer.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.

Motion (2024/25-121) to approve the agenda was made by Mrs. Winter with a second by Mrs. Peters. Motion carried (7-0).

Motion (2024/25-122) to approve the Item of Consent as follows was made by Mrs. Hemker with a second by Mr. Korte. Motion carried (7-0).

1. Approve Minutes of April 9, 2025

Motion (2024/25-123) to declare elected board members Taylor Beckmann and Kennedy Brauer was made by Mrs. Winter with a second by Mrs. Linders. Roll call vote showed the following: Korte, aye; Biggs, aye; Hemker aye; Linders, aye; Peters, aye; Winter, aye and Deerhake, aye.

Comments from outgoing board members, Matt Korte and Terry Biggs, were shared with the board and those in attendance along with comments from Superintendent Becker.

Superintendent Becker recognized outgoing board member Matt Korte for his twelve years of service to the district along with outgoing board member Terry Biggs for his four years of service to the district.

Motion (2024/25-124) to adjourn “Sine Die” at 7:20 p.m. was made by Mr. Korte with a second by Mr. Biggs. Motion carried (7-0).

Re-organizational Meeting Minutes

Re-organizational meeting called to order by President Pro Tempore Lee Deerhake at 7:21 p.m. with the following members present: Lee Deerhake, Andrea Linders, Nicole Peters, Ashley Winter, Taylor Beckmann, Kennedy Brauer and Jessica Hemker. Also in attendance: Superintendent Robin Becker, Assistant Principal Trisha Weekley, SEL/RtI/Special Education Coordinator Kristine Beer and Board Secretary Leigh Ann Arentsen.

Oath of Office was recited by the new and returning members of the Board of Education.

Motion (2024/25-125) to approve the agenda was made by Mrs. Peters with a second by Mr. Beckmann. Motion carried (7-0).

Introductions and comments from each of the Leadership Team Members along with each of the Board Members was made to share experiences and insight into the responsibilities of the board to help set the tone for a collaborative and productive year ahead.

The Leadership Team shared an overview of the district’s core values including respect, trust, empowerment and student-centered. These values will serve as a guide for the board as it conducts business throughout the upcoming year.

Motion (2024/25-126) to elect Andrea Linders as Board President was made by Mrs. Winter with a second by Mr. Deerhake. Roll call vote showed the following: Deerhake, aye; Linders, abstained; Peters, aye; Winter, aye; Beckmann, aye; Brauer, aye and Hemker, aye.

Motion (2024/25-127) to elect Ashley Winter as Vice-President was made by Mrs. Winter with a second by Mrs. Brauer. Roll call vote showed the following: Peters, aye; Winter, aye; Beckmann, aye; Brauer, aye; Hemker, aye; Deerhake, aye and Linders, aye.

Motion (2024/25-128) to appoint Leigh Ann Arentsen as Board Secretary was made by Mr. Deerhake with a second by Mrs. Peters. Roll call vote showed the following: Winter, aye; Beckmann, aye; Brauer, aye; Hemker, aye; Deerhake, aye; Peters, aye and Linders, aye.

Motion (2024/25-129) to appoint Darlene Beer as Treasurer was made by Mrs. Winter with a second by Mrs. Hemker. Roll call vote showed the following: Beckmann, aye; Brauer, aye; Hemker, aye; Deerhake, aye; Peters, aye; Winter, aye and Linders, aye.

New Business:

Motion (2024/25-130) to adopt Policies/Procedures/Handbooks was made by Mrs. Hemker with a second by Mr. Beckmann. Motion carried (7-0).

Motion (2024/25-131) to set Board Meetings for the Second Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm was made by Mr. Deerhake with a second by Mrs. Winter. Motion carried (7-0).

Motion (2024/25-137) to adjourn the meeting at 7:56 p.m. was made by Mrs. Peters with a second by Mrs. Winter. Motion carried (7-0).
