Hillsboro Community Unit School District 3 Board of Education met April 28.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1) A special meeting of the Board of Education was called to order by President Matt Lentz, at the Hillsboro Unit Office at 7:00 p.m. The following board members were present: Matt Lentz, Brian Patton, Blake Furness, Kassie Greenwood, Mike Cerutti, and Nathan Kirby. John Lentz was absent.

2) Agenda Item 2.0 Business Before the Current Board of Education

2.1 Approval of Fishing Team Volunteer Assistant Coaches

Superintendent Powell is recommending approval for two volunteer assistant fishing coaches.

Motion by Nathan Kirby, seconded by Kassie Greenwood to approve Luke Lyerla and Mike Riggs as Fishing Team Volunteer Assistant Coaches.

2.2 Consideration of Award of Bid for Tennis Court Project

Tim Downen of Hurst-Rosche was present to go over the bid tabulation for the Tennis Court Project. Three bids were received at the bid opening on April 25th. Mr. Downen is recommending low bidder Shores Builders, Inc.

Motion by Nathan Kirby, seconded by Kassie Greenwood to approve Shores Builders, Inc. as the bid winner for the Tennis Court Project in the amount of $940,800. On roll call the following voted yes: Matt Lentz, Brian Patton, Blake Furness, Kassie Greenwood, Mike Cerutti, and Nathan Kirby. Motion carried 6-0.

3) Agenda Item 3.0 Reorganization of the Board of Education

3.1 Installation of Re-Elected Board Members

President Lentz administered the Oath of Office to newly elected members Nathan Kirby, Kassie Greenwood and Bill Christian.

3.2 Election of Officers

Appointment of President Pro Tem

Motion by Mike Cerutti to nominate Matt Lentz as President Pro Tem. No other nominations. Voice vote. Motion carried.

President Pro Tem Lentz opened the nominations for President

Motion by Mike Cerutti to nominate Matt Lentz as President. No other nominations. Matt Lentz declared President by unanimous decision.

President Lentz opened the nominations for Vice President

Motion by Kassie Greenwood to nominate Nathan Kirby as Vice President. President Lentz asked for other nominations. There were none. President Lentz declared Nathan Kirby as Vice President by unanimous decision.

President Lentz opened the nominations for Secretary

Motion by Nathan Kirby to nominate Kassie Greenwood as Secretary. President Lentz asked for other nominations. There were none. President Lentz declared Kassie Greenwood as Secretary by unanimous decision.

President Lentz opened the nominations for Treasurer

Motion by Nathan Kirby to nominate Brian Patton as Treasurer. President Lentz asked for other nominations. There were none. President Lentz declared Brian Patton as Treasurer by unanimous decision.

President Lentz opened the nominations for Recording Secretary

Motion by Nathan Kirby, seconded by Kassie Greenwood to nominate Heather Greenwood as Recording Secretary. President Lentz asked for other nominations. There were none. Voice vote. Motion carried.

3.3 Establish Regular Meeting Schedule

Motion by Nathan Kirby, seconded by Kassie Greenwood to approve the second Tuesday of each month as the regular meeting schedule. Voice vote. Motion carried.

4.) Agenda Item 4.0 Adjournment.

Motion by Nathan Kirby, seconded by Kassie Greenwood to adjourn the meeting at 7:18 p.m. Voice vote. Motion carried.
