State Senator Jason Plummer | Illinois General Assembly
State Senator Jason Plummer from Edwardsville has expressed concerns about Governor J.B. Pritzker's performance in office. Plummer criticizes the governor for focusing on raising his national profile rather than addressing state issues.
"The people of Illinois deserve a full-time governor, someone who is committed to common-sense public policy that will fix our broken budget, reduce crime, and create opportunity for families, not someone who uses the office as a platform to grow his national profile as the state continues to shrink," Plummer stated.
Plummer highlighted several issues he attributes to Governor Pritzker's administration. "As we sit here today, Illinoisans are suffering from out-of-control crime, the highest unemployment rate in the Midwest, the Governor’s endless tax increases, and reckless state spending, which has increased by nearly 40 percent during his tenure and has driven the massive tax burden our families face," he said.
The senator also urged Governor Pritzker to collaborate more with legislators in Springfield instead of attending events outside Illinois. "J.B. Pritzker needs to spend more time working with bipartisan legislators in Springfield and less time at pancake breakfasts in Iowa and New Hampshire. While he holds staged press conferences for national attention, Illinois families are being crushed by the consequences of his failed administration."
