Macoupin County Board Road and Bridge Committee met July 2.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Members Present: Bernie Kiel, Gordon Heuer, Leann Barr, Molly Rosentreter, and Tony Wiggins
Members Absent: Ross Adden and Todd Armour
Officials and Department Heads Present: Tom Reinhart
1. Call to Order
1.1 Roll Call
There were 5 members present and 2 members absent.
2. Audit Bills
2.1 Review and Recommend monthly claims
Claims 1097 through 1127 totaling $ 151,937.59 were read and the following motion made:
Motion to approve the resolution and recommend passage by the full board

3. Resolutions
3.1 Power-to-Act Resolution to award contract for the Staunton-Bunker Hill Road project (23-00108-01-FP) following the July 9, 2025 letting
4. 50/50 Petitions
The following 50/50 project petitions were presented:
Project Estimate County Share
Barr #53 $ 6,000.00 $ 3,000.00
Bird #29 7,000.00 3,500.00
South Palmyra #45 7,500.00 3,750.00
The County’s obligation for the projects will be the “County Share” only.

4.4 Project closure report
The Committee was presented with a report of the six 50/50 projects that have been closed out since December 2024. The Committee asked to see a list of all the open 50/50 projects. The list is attached to these minutes

Reinhart reported he called the selected candidate for the mechanic position after the meeting on June 24th and sent the offer letter but he has not heard back from the candidate with his decision.

There was a brief discussion about the solar farms coming into the county.
