Report: Carlyle spent $9,255 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Carlyle Community Unit School District 1 is up 9 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Clinton County school district spent $8,468 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,255 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1191 to 1118.

Carlyle's spending in 2016-17 was 29 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
