Report: Central A&M spent $10,133 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Central A&M Community Unit School District 21 is up 9 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Shelby County school district spent $9,270 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,133 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 865 to 762.

Central A&M's spending in 2016-17 was 22 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
