Report: Centralia spent $13,933 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Centralia High School District 200 is up 12 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Marion County school district spent $12,386 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,933 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 960 to 912.

Centralia's spending in 2016-17 was 7 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
