Report: Litchfield spent $8,714 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Litchfield Community Unit School District 12 is down 6 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Montgomery County school district spent $9,257 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,714 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1385 to 1447.

Litchfield's spending in 2016-17 was 33 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
