Report: Bunker Hill spent $8,162 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Bunker Hill Community Unit School District 8 is up 13 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Macoupin County school district spent $7,234 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,162 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 681 to 605.

Bunker Hill's spending in 2016-17 was 37 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
