Report: Edinburg spent $7,213 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Edinburg Community Unit School District 4 is down 23 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Christian County school district spent $9,325 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $7,213 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 295 to 286.

Edinburg's spending in 2016-17 was 44 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
