Report: North Mac spent $7,918 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at North Mac Community Unit School District 34 is down 8 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Macoupin County school district spent $8,646 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $7,918 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1643 to 1413.

North Mac's spending in 2016-17 was 39 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
