Shoal Creek Fire Protection District responded to 20 calls in 2017 - 25.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Shoal Creek included 19 fires - three structure fires, three vehicle fires and 13 other fires.

In all, the department saw $14,400 in fire loss - or about $758 per fire.

The department also received one false call.

The Shoal Creek Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $75,946 in 2017.
