Unit 7 Fire Protection District responded to 70 calls in 2017 - 66.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Unit 7 included 54 fires - 30 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and 17 other fires.

In all, the department saw $749,900 in fire loss - or about $13,887 per fire.

The department also received 16 false calls, including six malicious calls and 10 other false calls.

One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.

The Unit 7 Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $135,356 in 2017.
