Sandoval Fire Protection District responded to 38 calls in 2017 - 18.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Sandoval included 33 fires - 12 structure fires, five vehicle fires and 16 other fires.

In all, the department saw $205,950 in fire loss - or about $6,241 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The Sandoval Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $208,268 in 2017.
