Blaine Wilhour, the Republican candidate for the 107th House District seat, has attended several public events as he winds up his campaign ahead of the November battle at the ballot box.
Wilhour recently recognized on social media the large turnout at the St. Anthony Parish Picnic the day before and thanked volunteer George Mette, his honorary campaign manager, for support.
“We are so blessed to live in an area that still has faith and traditional values as a cornerstone of our communities,” Wilhour wrote on Facebook on Aug. 12.

After attending Governor's Day at the Illinois State Fair, the candidate mentioned the visit on Facebook.
“We got to see Butter Cow and I met former Illini standout Brian Randle,” he said. “My three boys posed for a photo between President Trump and the infamous Toilets that J.B. Pritzker had ripped out of his backup Chicago Mansion [sic] so that he could avoid paying the ridiculous property taxes that are forced on us regular people.”
Wilhour, an advocate for teacher pension reform and changing the status quo in Springfield, is running against Democrat David Seiler and Libertarian Thadeus Freed.
The 107th House District includes Bond, Clinton, Effingham, Fayette and Marion counties.
