Macoupin County Public Safety Committee met Sept. 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Wieseman, Watson, Long, Starr, Tranter, Wiggins

ABSENT : Kiel

II. AGENDA ITEMS

Regular Meeting ~ Minutes ~

1. Resolution in Support of an Emergency Response Coalition

Chairman Wieseman explained that this resolution would result in the formation of an Emergency Response Committee which would cost no money from the County.

Motion by Long, seconded by Tranter to refer the Resolution in Support of an Emergency Response Coalition to the Macoupin County Board. Voice vote:

SECONDER: Mike Tranter, Member

ABSENT: Kie

2. Animal Control Facility Grass Cutting

Animal Control Administrator Andy Weosthaus, spoke regarding the grass cutting at the Animal Control Facility. Until this point, there had been volunteers from Ruyle Lawn care who cut the grass but this has stopped. The Sheriff's Department cut the grass this week for the first time in around a month. Weosthaus stated that he would take care of mowing the lawn in the future and the Sheriff offered his help if need be in the future.

3. Contract with E911 for Dispatching Services

Sheriff Kahl and Chairman Dragovich spoke regarding the new E911 Contract, that requires the number of dispatchers to be no less than 10. If it dips below 10 dispatchers, the amounts can be renegotiated. It is a 3 year deal with a 2% increase in salaries per year. Other than those measures, the contract is the same as before.

Motion by Watson, seconded by Starr to recommend the Contract with E911 for Dispatching Services to the Macoupin County Board. Voice vote:
