Blaine Wilhour, a Republican candidate for the Illinois House of Representatives, recently took to social media to celebrate the year anniversary of his announcement to run for the 107th District seat.

“It has been a wild year, I have met so many great people and (I have) learned something new every single day,” Wilhour posted on Facebook.

Wilhour, a former Fayette County board member, is running on a platform that includes pro-life; tax and spending reform; Second Amendment rights, and legislative term limits. He served as an intelligence analyst in the Army National Guard and currently helps run his family farm and construction business.

“Many things have changed over the past year, but our message today is the same as it was then: Regular hard-working folks down here need a strong voice that understands our priorities and will fight aggressively for our shared values in Springfield,” he said. “Thank you so much for the support over the past year!”

Wilhour is running against Democrat David Seiler and Libertarian Thadeus Freed in the Nov. 6 general election.

The 107th House District includes Altamont, Centralia, Effingham, Greenville, Kinmundy, Salem, St. Elmo, Vandalia and Wamac.
