Seth McMillan, a state Senate candidate in District 48, told supporters his opponent, state Sen. Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill), had received money from a PAC controlled by J.B. Pritzker and Michael Madigan.
“A shady SuperPAC controlled by Chicago politicians J.B. Pritzker and Mike Madigan has given over $1 million to Andy Manar,” McMillan said in an Oct. 10 Facebook post. “They’ll do anything to keep a vote for higher taxes and exploding budgets.”
J.B. Pritzker is the billionaire Hilton Hotel heir who's running for Illinois governor. Madigan has been state House Speaker for 35 years.

McMillan then encouraged supporters to “help us fight back” with a campaign donation via his website.
“Even as little as $5 will help us fight back,” McMillan said. “We can't compete with the Chicago Democrats dollar for dollar, but you can help us get our message out.”
McMillan, campaigning under the slogan “a new direction for Illinois,” has identified key issues as fair school funding, a roads-and-bridges infrastructure plan, term limits for lawmakers and lower taxes. He will take on Manar in the Nov. 6 general election.
The 48th state District covers Assumption, Benld, Bunker Hill, Carlinville, Coffeen, Decatur, Gillespie, Girard, Hillsboro, Litchfield, Mount Olive, Nokomis, Pana, Springfield, Staunton, Taylorville, Virden and Witt.
