Jonesboro state House candidate Marsha Griffin received another $84,630 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Sept. 29 and Oct. 17, state filings show.

The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Friends of Marsha Griffin, the campaign committee that supports Griffin’s race against Republican Terri Bryant in the 115th District.

The district covers all or part of Jefferson, Washington, Perry, Jackson and Union counties.

Madigan’s contributions to Griffin came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $519,512 to the candidate’s campaign.

From Sept. 29 to Oct. 17,  Madigan spent $4.37 million backing campaigns for 25 candidates.
