Macoupin County Road and Bridge Committee met September 5.

Project; Cost; County Share:
Hillyard #58- $ 6,500.00; $ 3,250.00
Western Mound; #442,200.00; 1,100.00
The County’s obligation for the project will be the “County Share” only.
Motion made by Harding seconded by Watson to approve the petitions and recommend passage by the full board.

IV. Discussion
1. Personnel – Review applications for open position.
The Committee and Reinhart reviewed 45 applications for the open maintainer position at the Highway Department and chose 10 applicants to interview. The committee agreed the interviews will be conducted on three days interviewing 3 or 4 candidates each day. Reinhart will contact the selected candidates when the dates are determined.
2. Other Discussion
Reinhart reported that he has contacted IDOT about possible solutions to improving safety at the Litchfield Road and Rt.4 intersection but he has not heard back from IDOT.
Reinhart also reported a speed study has been completed on the Girard end on the Emmerson Airline. This is the first step in determining a possible change in speed limit.
