Report: Taylorville spent $7,685 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Taylorville Community Unit School District 3 is up 5.4 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Christian County school district spent $7,292 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $7,685 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2715 to 2542.

Taylorville's spending in 2017-18 was 42.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
