Report: Carlyle spent $9,810 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Carlyle Community Unit School District 1 is up 10.9 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Clinton County school district spent $8,844 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,810 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1203 to 1074.

Carlyle's spending in 2017-18 was 26.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
