Report: Central City spent $7,489 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Central City School District 133 is down 1 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Marion County school district spent $7,568 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $7,489 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 278 to 338.

Central City's spending in 2017-18 was 43.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
