Report: Centralia spent $11,052 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Centralia School District 135 is up 6.1 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Marion County school district spent $10,421 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,052 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1326 to 1323.

Centralia's spending in 2017-18 was 17.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
