The campaign committee of state senator candidate Andrew Manar, Friends of Andy Manar, returned a $300 contribution from Ned Thompson on July 24, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Thompson has not made any other contributions to Andrew Manar in the past 12 months.
