Hillsboro home prices fall in the third quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2017 in Hillsboro fell by $42,750 while total sales increased by 33.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2017, there were eight homes sold, with a median sale price of $41,250 - a 50.9% decrease over the $84,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were six homes sold in Hillsboro in the third quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Hillsboro for 2017 was $1,697.92. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,730.30. This marks an decrease of 1.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 4.1%.
