Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Macoupin County?

There were nine offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Macoupin County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by South Central Reporter.

The data shows that eight men and one woman were released in Macoupin County. The median age of the parolees was 41. The youngest parolee was a 30-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2017, and the oldest was a 58-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Ricky L. Cox II. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2016 when he was 35 years old. He is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
