Taylorville Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on Aug. 15.
It has been one year since we officially started our construction project and we are proud to say we are right on schedule. Phase 1 of the project is nearly 60% complete and slated for completion early 2020.
Outside, nearly all the brickwork has been completed and site civil and underground utility work continues on the east side of the project. Soon, crews will start focusing on surface improvements such as curbs and sidewalks.
De-humidification and cooling is in place so work can continue in earnest inside. Second floor finishes are progressing well with pre-manufactured head walls being installed in the patient rooms and installation of flooring in select areas at the end of July. Painting has begun and will continue. On the first floor, the stud walls and drywall is in progress and drywall finishes will follow soon after.
