Illinois State Senate District 48 issued the following announcement on Oct. 15.
Senior citizens from around Christian County joined State Senator Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill) Thursday for a free senior resource fair.
The event featured an opportunity for seniors to take advantage of free and discounted services from health care providers as well as state and local groups, such as health screenings and on-site drivers’ license renewals.
“Seniors often face the challenge of having to travel several miles to access vital services they need,” Manar said. “Hosting these events allows us to bring all of these resources to one convenient location, saving seniors both time and money.”
The event in Taylorville is the second of three senior fairs Manar is hosting this fall. The final senior fair will take place in Decatur on Oct. 16.
