Illinois State Senate District 58 issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.
State Senator Paul Schimpf (R-Waterloo) released the following statement after the Senate voted to override the Governor's veto on HB3902:
"This legislation is an important action toward retaining hundreds of Southern Illinois jobs and millions of dollars in economic activity from our state's aviation industry. I am still disappointed that Governor Pritzker refused to listen to nearly unanimous bipartisan support in the General Assembly. Now that his veto has been overwhelmingly rejected by both chambers, representing the first legislative defeat for the governor, I hope he has heard the voices of lawmakers who are trying to do the best thing for their districts."
