Analysis: Centralia pays $5.67 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Salem Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 85 percent of the $615,724 the Salem Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.67 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Centralia contributed $523,531 to the fund, which saw a $378,789 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $92,193, or 15 percent, in 2018.
