Taylorville Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on July 2.

On Monday, July 6, an outpatient laboratory drive-up service will begin at Taylorville Memorial Hospital. The service will be available Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m and weekends 8 a.m to 12 p.m. Patients will be able to park in reserved parking spaces next to the ambulance bay and a phlebotomist will meet them at their car.

The drive-up service is by appointment only and patients must have a valid written order from their physician. Appointments can be made by calling Central Scheduling at 217-707-5550.

The drive-up lab service is available for patients 10 years of age and older. Patients under the age of 10 or who need to drop off a specimen will need to use the new South Entrance to visit the Outpatient Care Center for those needs.

“This is a convenient way for patients to get the lab tests they need,” said laboratory manager Phyllis Jachino. “By offering lab service in the Outpatient Care Center inside the hospital and outside with the drive-up lab service, we are confident we can serve this community well.”

For the safety of the patient and the phlebotomist, it is recommended to leave your pets at home while having lab work done.

Questions about the new drive-up lab at TMH can be directed to Central Scheduling 217-707-5550.

Taylorville Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital and is an affiliate of Memorial Health System. For more information about TMH, visit TaylorvilleMemorial.org.
