Sugar Creek Township Fire Protection District responded to 22 calls in 2018 - 21.4 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Sugar Creek included eight fires - five structure fires and three other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $250,875 in fire loss - or about $31,359 per fire.

The department also received 12 false calls.
