City of Breese issued the following announcement on Nov. 23.
Due to increased interest in the Christmas Memorial Trees displayed at the City Park, the Lighting Committee would like to remind the community how the process works. For a one-time $100 donation the committee will build a tree with a personalized ornament containing the name of your deceased loved one. The trees will be stored in a city warehouse and will be displayed during the Christmas season for 5 years. After 5 years the personalized ornament will be displayed on a Community Tree to allow room for new trees. If multiple ornaments are requested for one tree there will be a $15 charge for each additional ornament.
If anyone would like a tree for the 2021 holiday season, please sign up by calling Jean Vogt at 920-9246 and make your donation as soon as possible. The first 8 requests made by September 1st will be ready for display for Christmas 2021. Any other questions may be referred to either Jean at the number above or Maribeth Detmer at 526-4038.
