City of Carlyle Finance Committee Met Nov. 9.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Don Perez at 6:45 p.m. at Case Halstead Library located at 550 6th Street. Committee members present included Don Perez, John Hodapp, and Kent Newkirk. Others present included Scott Rakers, Kelly Ross, Mark Pingsterhaus, Joe Heiligenstein, Rita Jurgensmeyer, Michael Jansen, Shannon Petrea, Scott Diekemper, Jeremy Weh, Mayor Judy Smith, Andy Brackett, and Martha Reinkensmeyer.

Approval of Minutes

After reviewing the minutes, Kent Newkirk made a motion to approve the minutes. John Hodapp seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.

Approval of Claims

After reviewing the claims, John Hodapp made a motion to approve the claims. Kent Newkirk seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.

ICRMT Insurance/Work Comp Renewal

Andy stated that the proposal from Illinois Counties Risk Management Trust (ICRMT) would allow the city to renew as of December 1st with a less than one percent increase from the previous year. The city also received a COVID credit on the cost of the premium. The proposal includes sales tax interruption. This would allow the city to recoup lost sales tax income through ICRMT if a large business in town should close. Kent Newkirk made a motion to take the proposal from ICRMT to Council. John Hodapp seconded the motion. After a voice vote, all were found in favor.
