Village of Germantown President and Board of Trustees met November 17

Village of Germantown President and Board of Trustees met Nov. 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular monthly Board meeting of the President and Board of Trustees for the Village of Germantown was held at 7:00 p.m. Those present included the following: Village President Duane Ripperda, Trustees: Ken Albers, Michael Albers, Ken Brauer, and Jerald Schroeder. Clerk Dawn Lakenburges was also present. Trustees Roger Rickhoff, Supt. Steve Mullins, Police Chief Jeff Wuebbles and Village Attorney Aaron Epplin were present via ZOOM. Trustee Brad Schroeder was absent.

The minutes of the previous month’s meetings were available for review. A motion to approve the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Jerald Schroeder, seconded by Trustee Ken Albers. Motion carried.

Village President Duane Ripperda asked that another letter be sent to the Red Deuce owner. The building has sat vacant for over a year and needs to be taken care of.

Ripperda also said an employee is out with COVID-19 and several other employees are awaiting test results right now.

Supt. Steve Mullins said the sidewalk project on Hanover Street is going well and should be finished soon. The Water & Sewer Replacement Project has started and is going slow.

Police Chief Jeff Wuebbles said he and Officer Huelskamp have been attending training and other than that, it’s been quiet.

Clerk Lakenburges presented the Board with a quote for approximately $3000 on a new phone system for the Village Hall. Trustee Jerald Schroeder made a motion to approve the purchase of the phone system. Trustee Michael Albers seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Trustee Jerald Schroeder reported that Finance & Insurance Committee has met several time with representatives from IML RMA and Imming Insurance regarding the general insurance renewal for the Village. At this time the Committee is recommending to stay with IML RMA. With that, Trustee Ken Brauer made a motion to approve the renewal of the Village general insurance with IML RMA. Trustee Ken Albers seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Attorney Aaron Epplin presented the Board with 2 ordinances regarding mobile homes.

Trustee Jerald Schroeder made a motion to adopt Ordinance 2020-11, AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 23 OF THE REVISED CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF GERMANTOWN, CLINTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS ENTITLED MOBILE HOUSING CODE. Trustee Michael Albers seconded the motion and the motion carried with the following Trustees voting “Aye”: Ken Albers, Michael Albers, Ken Brauer, Roger Rickhoff, Jerald Schroeder. Trustee Brad Schroeder was absent.

Trustee Ken Brauer made a motion to adopt Ordinance 2020-12, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 40-4-2, 40-4-3 AND 40-5-8, IN CHAPTER 40 AND REPEALING SECTION 40-4-4 IN CHAPTER 40 ALL OF THE REVISED CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF GERMANTOWN, CLINTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS. Trustee Ken Albers seconded the motion and the motion carried with the following Trustees voting “Aye”: Ken Albers, Michael Albers, Ken Brauer, Roger Rickhoff, Jerald Schroeder. Trustee Brad Schroeder was absent.

Clerk Lakenburges then presented the tax levy ordinance for fiscal year 2021. Trustee Ken Albers made a motion to adopt Ordinance 2020-13, AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR CORPORATE PURPOSES FOR THE VILLAGE OF GERMANTOWN, CLINTON COUNTY, ILLINOIS FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING ON THE 1ST DAY OF MAY 2020 AND ENDING ON THE 30TH DAY OF APRIL 2021. Trustee Roger Rickhoff seconded the motion and the motion carried. Roll call vote showed the following Trustees voting “Aye”: Ken Albers, Michael Albers, Ken Brauer, Roger Rickhoff, Jerald Schroeder. Trustee Brad Schroeder was absent.

Trustee Ken Albers made a motion to pay all bills as presented. Trustee Ken Brauer seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Trustee Jerald Schroeder then made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Ken Brauer seconded the motion and the motion carried. Meeting adjourned 7:20 pm.
