City of Carlinville City Council met Jan. 19.
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
PRESENT: Alderman Harber, Alderman Koller, Alderman LeVora, Alderman Link, Alderman McClain, Alderman Ober, Alderman Wagstaff, Alderman Downey, City Treasurer/Budget Officer Jody Reichmann, Mayor Sarah Oswald, City Attorney Dan O’Brien, Deputy City Clerk Julie Stults, Chief Dave Haley, Police Lieutenant Derek Graham
Approval of Previous Minutes - Motion was made by Alderman Harber to approve minutes, seconded by Levora, motion passed unanimously.
Approval of Bills - Motion made to approve bills by Alderman Downey, seconded Link, motion passed unanimously.
Correspondence – Resignation letter for Library board member Susan VanNattan and request from Ashley Vinyard for Krispy Kreme sales. Motion to approve by Alderman Downey, seconded Koller, motion passed unanimously.
Public Comment
Dan Held Public Works Director stated an apology for the list of address that came out in the paper in regards to the grant the City received.
Mayor Oswald thanked the public works department for all the hard work on the water main break.
Alderman Downey stated that he is concerned about projects the city has and would like to advise other Alderman to look over all the infrastructure projects and prioritize them.
Old Business
Update on roof replacement: Dan Held Public Works Director stated he received an email from the architect that the roof was complete. Dan also stated that we do have a few more things to finish and the roofing company will be informed to come back to finish those things up. Once those things are done then the final payment for the roof can be made.
New Business
Mayors Appointment to Library Board: Mayor Oswald appointed Diana Aikin to Library board. Motion to approve appointment by Alderman Downey, seconded by McClain, motion passed unanimously.
Market Days: Motion to approve the Market Days the Saturday of each month starting in April and ending in November by Alderman Koller, seconded by Link, motion passed unanimously.
Approval of bid for city property-Willie’s 109: Alderman Harber stated we only received one bid and the Finance committee accepted this bid and passed it to go to city council. Motion to accept the bid of $1,500 by Alderman Koller, seconded by McClain, motion passed unanimously.
Motion to adjourn was made by Alderman Downey at 6:19 p.m., seconded by Koller motion passed unanimously.
